In the heart of California farm country, Fresno is a center of both agriculture and urbanity. Fresno Pacific University is the Central Valley’s only accredited Christian university, and offers both graduate and undergraduate degrees. Other resident institutions include California Christian College and the community college Fresno City College.
Some of the world’s most beautiful parks are within a day’s drive of Fresno. Chief among these are Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. These national treasures draw millions of tourists annually from around the world.
Families have plenty of attractions to choose from in and around Fresno. Blackbeard’s Family Entertainment Center features three miniature golf courses, rides, and arcades. The Fresno Metropolitan Museum of Art and Science is a family-friendly venue which showcases artifacts from around Central California as well as interactive exhibits for children.
Fresno is also wine country, and a trip to a local winery can be a fun excursion.
