Princeton Hotels and Travel Guide

Princeton, New Jersey is, by anyone’s definition, a true college town.  If you’re looking for Princeton hotels, Extended Stay Hotels has two great places to stay, both offering a great rate.

Princeton has shared its name with the world renowned university since the school moved here in 1756 from Elizabeth, New Jersey.  Princeton University specializes in undergraduate education, and offers several graduate degree programs, such as that awarded through the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs

Other institutions of higher education in Princeton include the Westminster Choir College, Princeton Theological Seminary, the Institute for Advanced Study and Mercer County Community College in nearby West Windsor.

For a town with a population of just 14,000, Princeton is home to a broad array of businesses.  Opinion Research Corporation was founded here by Claude Robinson and George Gallup in 1938 and remains in Princeton today.  Gallup, however, left the firm in 1939 to form his own organization.

High technology research and development giant Sarnoff Corporation is headquartered in Princeton where it works in communication, digital video, defense and several other industry sectors.  Also headquartered in Princeton are Church and Dwight, maker of Arm and Hammer Baking Soda, Brillo pads and other household items, and language expert Berlitz International.

Given Princeton’s affiliation with academics, it’s no surprise that the not-for-profit creator of numerous standardized tests, Educational Testing Services, or ETS, is headquartered in here.  ETS is responsible for designing tests, such as the GRE and SAT, which are used in determining entrance into graduate and undergraduate schools.

Visitors seeking to spend some time in nature have many options.  Within Princeton Township there are numerous trails for walking and biking.  Just minutes away are larger parks like Six Mile Run Park and Pigeon Swamp State Park.

Golfers have plenty of options as well.  Bunker Hill Golf Course was built in 1972 and offers a fun 18-hole course with plenty of challenge for everyone.  The Meadows at Middlesex Golf Course in nearby Plainsboro features an 18-hole championship course and lots of amenities.

Visitors looking for a comfortable and convenient Princeton hotel, either of the Extended Stay America hotels offer guests exceptional value.
